Biltek with its dynamic structure and true commitment; contributes to improvements in human life throughout its story of success. The story goes back to 1980 when four young entrepreneurs started their career in the construction & telecommunication sector. Mr. Köksal Koçer, Mr. Muzaffer Boztepe, Mr. Muzaffer Semizer and Mr. Taskin Midilli took their first step back in that year toward building a strong organization in the construction & telecommunication sector. On October 09, 1997 and after establishing a healthy market background, design experience, supplier relations, management strategy and experience; this formation was called “Biltek Construction”. The word “Biltek” is the abbreviation of “Knowledge” and “Technology” in the Turkish language.
Starting with moderate size of construction and technical supervision projects and proceeding with higher level projects through time together with experience accumulation; this young company was successful to put its signature on 25 projects with total value of 364 million dollar throughout 24 years of continuous success.
In this decade, Biltek was re-organizing its strategy to adapt and attain a competitive advantage in the global market. Geographical & demographical factors put Biltek one step ahead in the Iraqi construction market, and adding the past performance and experience Biltek gained; entering Iraq construction sector and leading it was the most simple and important decision Biltek took in this decade.
On November 16, 2004 Biltek signed an IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for the amount of 200 million dollar. This IDIQ covers military & civil construction projects in Iraq with one Base Period and three Option Periods each of 50 million dollar.
Biltek is going forward, it is only the beginning.
